Specialist for nine years for Spanish-speaking
families. She involves herself in support
groups sharing Down's Syndrome like
DSNetwork and was on the board for Leti
Foundation. She also completed a six month
training with Pilot Parents of Southern
Arizona called “Partners in Policymaking” in
which she was empowered to be a diligent
advocate for her daughter's needs. She is also
a volunteer for Raising Special Kids where
she gets connected with other families who
are in need of support or resources, especially
within the Hispanic community. She has
attended conferences and trainings to
become more knowledgeable about changes
in IDEA laws and to help meet her daughter's
needs. She is thankful for the opportunity to
work for Arion and to be of service to all
families.
